From Iceland – 180 earthquakes were detected near Grindavik

An earthquake started yesterday afternoon in Sýlingafell, near Grindavík, RÚV reports. In about 24 hours, 180 earthquakes were detected.

The strongest earthquake was 3.3 on the Richter scale.

Earthquakes have been frequent in this area recently, but the latest reports occurred in mid-March.

The earthquake that started yesterday originated west of the Blue Lagoon and west of the eruption site in Vagradalsvial.
