Earthquake, Corona Virus: Canterbury Restaurant The Bicycle Thief closes its doors for the second time
Bicycle Thief, forced to close after the 2011 Canterbury earthquake, had to close again – this time forever.
The family-run Thai-based restaurant, south of Christchurch, said in a Facebook post that it would be permanently closed after it closed during the national closure.
Things
The bicycle thief in Tai Tapu will not open after the close.
Reduced profit margins along with the coronavirus pandemic are believed to be the main factors driving closure.
“We want to thank you for your support over the past 15 years and let you know how grateful we are to meet you, serve you and see you during the festivities, and be a small part of your world,” the post said.

After Serra (the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority) took over the thief’s bike [building] On Latimer Square, we are saddened to lose this restaurant as if it were someone.
“When it was finally time to go, we took out the booths, packed the bulbs and stored the remaining crockery, believing that if we could stick to all the pieces, we would still keep the magic.”
The restaurant reopened after five years in Tai Tapu. Richard Middleton and her partner Lisa Wicksted co-owned the company. Their three daughters, Laila, Maya and Nova Middleton, worked there.

Home manager Lily Middleton said the closure was “strict” on the family, but “we did everything we could.”
She said the feeling was similar when the restaurant was forced to close after earthquakes.
“By looking at him as a family in many ways, it looks as if it was the last time we closed, getting a big final event completely out of our hands to be the last nail in the coffin, if you were to do, every time you felt so helpless … One day you will be there, the next day I am not. “
She thanked the community for his support.
“We always knew we had something special with our customers, and we had an evil community that was good for us.”

Although there were no immediate plans for any future restaurants (the idea of returning to the central city was considered in 2017), Middleton said the family “will never say”.
“I remember that after the first closure we had no idea but everything comes together along the way, [but] “There are not many plans to survive now,” she said.
The former thief bicycle building located on the corner of Latimer Sq and Worcester St was built after the earthquakes to make way for development in the city’s eastern framework.

What Are The Main Benefits Of Comparing Car Insurance Quotes Online
LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / June 24, 2020, / Compare-autoinsurance.Org has launched a new blog post that presents the main benefits of comparing multiple car insurance quotes. For more info and free online quotes, please visit https://compare-autoinsurance.Org/the-advantages-of-comparing-prices-with-car-insurance-quotes-online/ The modern society has numerous technological advantages. One important advantage is the speed at which information is sent and received. With the help of the internet, the shopping habits of many persons have drastically changed. The car insurance industry hasn't remained untouched by these changes. On the internet, drivers can compare insurance prices and find out which sellers have the best offers. View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price. Using brokerage websites will allow drivers to get quotes from multiple insurers, thus making the comparison faster and easier.
