Rakhine on the trail of the destroyed Rohingya peoples

The UN human rights chief has called on Bangladesh to begin plans to resettle thousands of Rohingya refugees who returned to Myanmar on Thursday, saying it will endanger their lives.

Hundreds of thousands of Rohingya have fled the border since August last year, and the UN says it continues to report serious human rights violations in Rakhine state, including alleged killings, disappearances and arbitrary arrests. We went to Rakhine, accompanied by Myanmar government officials, and repeatedly tried to visit the sites of the destroyed villages.
