Trump has spoken out against the removal of confederation names from U.S. bases

President Donald Trump has said he will join the U.S. military effort to change the names of nearly a dozen bases and facilities that contain nearly a dozen Confederate military authorities.
U.S. Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy and U.S. Army Secretary Mark Esper have said it is “open to the appointment of nearly a dozen important bases and facilities,” according to a military official.
But Trump tweeted: “Monumental and very powerful foundations have become part of America’s Great Heritage, and … … a history of Winner, Victory, and Freedom. The United States has trained and expanded our HEROES. Won the Holy Floors and Two World Wars “Therefore, my Administration will not consider changing the name of these excellent and fabulous military installations.”
Army-designated military facilities at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, Fort Hood in Texas and Fort A.P. Hill is in Virginia. Army bases across the state have continued to be the names of Confederate military commanders, amid strong external pressure to re-appoint them.
