NYCFC Game Recap: NYC scores late, beats San Jose

Funny what the final score 3-0 will do to your short-term memory.

Earlier today in the Bronx, New York City FC scored an empathic victory over the San Jose Earthquakes Western Conference’s punching bag, but only after a frustrating first half in which New York City struggled to create chances against the MLS’ most leaked defense. Team savers came from the bench: Second-half substitutes Maxi Morales and Gabriel Pereira turned a battered and wasted NYCFC side into a ruthless draft of three shots past poor San Jose goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski in the space of 15 minutes – and it could easily have been done.
