Player ratings like Gloucester, Parks and Pereira lead the hosts to victory

New York City beat the San Jose Earthquakes 3-0 at Yankee Stadium, as goals from Keaton Parks, Gabriel Pereira and Chris Gloucester in the second half drove the home side to the three points they desperately needed.

It was a slow start from both teams, and they entered the first half with a score of 0-0 and six shots combined on goal. San Jose retained the lead in possession, but were unable to reach the finish to secure the advantage.

The second goal 45 became favorable to the hosts after Parks began the dynamic sequence that led to the first goal. The midfielder was linked with Talles Magno on the left, before finding space inside the penalty area to complete a right-footed shot into the upper right corner.

The MLS champions are back on winning ways, climbing to fifth at the Eastern Conference table with 13 points in nine games. Meanwhile, defeat keeps the San Jose Earthquakes at the bottom of the Western Conference in 13th place with six points in nine games.
