Coronavirus claims more American life than World War I – BBC News

More Americans have died from coronavirus than those who died in World War I. The latest official figure is 120,000 deaths in the United States. Hundreds of new deaths are recorded every day. But in New York, which until recently was the global epicenter of the pandemic, life is beginning to be blocked. People have gone shopping, cutting their hair and eating in outdoor cafes.
