Magnitude 4.7 earthquake strikes Kathmandu

Kathmandu, June 11: A 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck Kathmandu in the early hours of Saturday morning, knocking many out of their sleep and forcing them to run outside.

The quake was registered by the National Seismological Center at 2:36 am and the epicenter was in Bhaktapur district, 15 km east of the capital.

Many people wrote on social media that it reminds them of the devastating 2015 earthquake.

People felt the earthquake in and around Kathmandu Valley. However, no damage to life or property was reported immediately after the accident.
