A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck just 7 minutes ago 41 kilometers southwest of Golfito, Costa Rica, according to the RaspberryShake Citizen Seismological Network. The earthquake struck at a depth of 5 km below the epicenter near Golfito, Provencia de Puntarenas, Costa. Rica, early in the morning on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 1:26 a.m. local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter and depth of the earthquake may be reviewed within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review the data and improve their calculations, or when other agencies release their reports. It caused no significant damage, but it was probably felt by many people in the form of a slight vibration in the epicenter area. A weak tremor may have been felt in Golfito (population 6800) located 41 km from the epicenter, 58 km from Corredor (population 7,100), 60 km from Puerto Armuelles (population 11,700), Canoas (population 4,600) At 64 km, Ciudad Cortes (population 3,900) is 67 km, San Vito (population 4,000) is 69 km, and San Vito (population 4,000) is 69 km.
