Dominic Raabe has been harshly criticized for his “taking the knee” comments – BBC News
UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has strongly criticized the anti-racism gesture as “taking the knee” rather than a release, as it seems to be a symbol of addiction. He added that he thought the gesture came from the TV show ‘Game of Thrones’. After a wave of criticism, Raab stressed that he had “full respect” for the Black Lives Matter movement. The murder of George Floyd, an African-American man arrested by Minneapolis police, has led to protests around the world, including in the UK. Police have also invited blacks to share treatment experiences. According to the latest figures from England and Wales, blacks are almost three times more likely to stop and search for whites and be arrested three times. The government has announced a committee on racial inequality, but some words do not call for action. Huw Edwards presents BBC News at Ten with political editors Laura Kuenssberg and Clive Myrie.
