Almaty is looking forward to up to 1 million foreign tourists by 2030

Almaty. Caseinform – The tourism infrastructure of the city of Almaty will be developed in an integrated way, the caseinform correspondent reports.

According to Almaty Mayor Yerbulat Dusayev, the full use of tousit capcity in the Almaty region and Greater Almaty in general should be in place.

The mayor said: “The entire tourism infrastructure will be developed, including the construction of a new airport building with a twofold increase in passenger traffic to 14 million people, a ski and eco-tourism center, and the expansion of accommodation capacity.” While presenting the draft High Priorities for the 2025 Development Agenda and the 2030 Mid-Term Horizons to the public.

He noted that the city’s new brand – Discover Almaty – will be developed to promote Almaty as a tourist destination and better tourism services.

“The influx of foreign tourists to up to one million people by 2030 is planned,” Dosayev said.

The mayor added that proposals were submitted by citizens to unify the tourism management system, implement digital maps, tripods, and free Wi-Fi in tourist areas, which must be taken into account when formulating the development plan.

It reported last year that there was a 1.4-fold increase in the number of foreign tourists from 301 to 435.6 thousand people in the last five years in the city.
