An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 hits the town of Zambales. A tremor was felt in Metro Manila, neighboring provinces

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales – A 4.6-magnitude earthquake shook the province at 4:36 p.m. Friday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located seven kilometers west of the town of Masinloc at a depth of 40 kilometers, and was felt by residents in some parts of the capital, Manila, and neighboring provinces, Phivolks said in its publication.

The following areas were scored by the Phivolcs: Intensity IV – Iba, ZambalesIntensity III – Infanta, Pangasinan; Density II – Japan City, New Eseega; Dagopan City, Pangasinan; Subic, San Antonio, Zambales Density I-Blardel, Bulacan; Malabon City, Passage City, Quezon City, Navotas City, Metro Manila; San Jose, Balayan City, New Ecija; Guagua, Pampanga; Bassett, Bolinao, Pangasinan; San Francisco, Quezon; Tarlac City, Tarlac

Earlier, netizens from Manila and Pasay districts reported that they felt a slight earthquake.

People on Twitter said they felt it in Pandacan, Sampaloc and other parts of Manila after 4:35 p.m.

So far, Phivolks said no earthquake damage or aftershocks are expected.
