On March 31, 1995, at the age of 23, Selena Quintanilla-Perez, a senior Latin superstar, was killed by her fan club manager at a Corpus Christi motel in Texas. The fans received death with shock and disbelief. Earlier in the year, Selena, as she was known, won the Grammy for the Selena Live album and it was highly anticipated that she would be included in the US mainstream. Husband and gang member Chris Perez describes how his wife, Yolanda Saldivar, was shot dead by her boss. Mrs. Saldivar was killed and is serving a life sentence.
