San Jose Earthquakes Helps Restore Salinas Chevron Under-18 Football Academy – KION546

Salinas, CA (KION-TV) – Chevron USA Inc. , along with Alianza de Futbol and San Jose Earthquakes, will bring Chevron Soccer Academy back to Salinas on Saturday and Sunday.

About 200 children from the Salinas Valley between the ages of 9 and 15 will receive training designed to give them the tools they need to improve their game. 200 children under the age of 18 will also participate in trials against scouts from San Jose Earthquakes, Club America, Atlas FC, Pachuca FC and the Mexican national team.

“We are excited to partner with Chevron to bring the Chevron Soccer Academy to the Monterey region,” said Heath Pearce, President of For Soccer Ventures, the owner entity of Alianza de Futbol. “This is a great program for kids from the community to learn football, meet some of the legends from the game, and most importantly, have fun while doing it.”

The Boys and Girls Clinic will take place at the Salinas Regional Football Complex on Saturday, July 23. The mixed trial will take place on Sunday 24 July. The clinic will focus on standard gameplay and strategy.

This program is designed to give children from low socioeconomic backgrounds opportunities to compete in the sport they love.
