Many Filipino residents who live in Hampton Roads have family as the earthquake killed and injured many people on Wednesday.

Virginia Beach, Virginia – Many people in the Hampton Roads Filipino community are looking for updates about their family members.

A 7.0-magnitude earthquake rocked the northern Philippine city of Luzon, on Wednesday.

“We are all deeply shocked, shocked, and worried about our family,” said Dr. Cynthia Romero.

Kristen Calim, a Virginia Beach resident, said she hears from her family via Facebook. But she said some of her friends were still hoping for a response.
