Leicester may face a new local blockade after an increase in coronavirus cases in the city. The government has warned as an important scientist advising that the UK is “on the edge of the knife” with the expected rise in cases in the coming weeks. Professor Sir Jeremy Farrar, a member of the government’s SAGE advisory committee, has also told the BBC that he expects a second wave of infection in the winter.
