Damage to Abra earthquake infrastructure reached more than P700M, says NDRRMC │ GMA News Online

On Monday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that more than $700 million in damage to infrastructure was reported due to the magnitude 7 earthquake that struck the city of Abra.

In its 6 a.m. case report, the NDRRMC said that a total of 704,491,498.76 damages to infrastructure have been reported in the county.

A total of 393,188,000 damages were recorded in Ilocos, P302,763,498.76 in the Cordillera, and P8,540,000 in Cagayan.

NDRRMC said at least 1,084 buildings were damaged.

Meanwhile, damage to agriculture was 13,964,476 pesos in the Cordillera.

The National Irrigation Administration has also recorded 4.5 million pesos in damages in the area.

NDRRMC reported that a total of 24,901 homes were damaged – 24,547 partially and 354 completely.

According to NDRRMC, 10 people were killed and 394 injured due to the earthquake.

The earthquake occurred at 8:43 am on July 27 and was at 17.64°N, 120.63°E – 003 kmN and 45°W from Thium in Abra. I felt it strongly in many areas of Luzon, including Metro Manila. —KG, GMA News
