Settlement of Class Lawsuit Damage to Great Oklahoma Earthquake Gets Preliminary Approval

Pawnee County, Oklahoma (KFOR) – A settlement in a class action lawsuit over earthquake damages in Pawnee County has received initial approval.

Pawnee County Court preliminarily approved Adams v. Eagle Road settlement of $850,000 for earthquake damages near Pawnee and Cushing in 2016, according to Scott Poynter of Poynter Law Group.

The plaintiffs agreed to settle with the defendant Eagle Road Oil, LLC.

Eagle Road operated wastewater disposal wells that allegedly contributed to the earthquakes near Pawnee.

The Settlement resolves all claims against Eagle Road related to earthquakes that occurred between November 15, 2014, the date of the Settlement, and had an epicenter within a 50-mile radius of Pawnee, including but not limited to the 5.8 m earthquake near Pawnee in September.3 , 2016, and a 5.0 M earthquake near Cushing on November 6, 2016.

Eagle Road representatives deny claims that Eagle Road contributed to causing the aforementioned earthquakes.
