The government will lay down details of its five-year defense strategy on Monday. Speaking to BBC's Andrew Marr on Sunday, Chancellor George Osborne said that by 2023 the UK would have 24 F35 aircraft with the airline. A Defense Ministry spokesman said they will be the first to order a total of 138 F35 – an expensive weapon, with helmets alone, costing more than £ 263,000 ($ 400,000).
