Update: USGS announces 5 earthquakes this week in Scurry and Fisher County | KLBK | King Abdulaziz Medical City

SCURI AND FISHER COUNTY, Texas – Five earthquakes were reported this week across western Scurry and eastern Fisher County, according to the US Geological Survey.

Four earthquakes were reported on Tuesday and Wednesday alone, while another occurred earlier this week on Monday.

The first earthquake occurred Monday at 8:22 a.m. CST in Scurry County. The US Geological Survey said it measured 2.6 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was 11.9 miles east of Snyder and 5.6 miles northeast of Hermley.

The second earthquake occurred Tuesday at 7:29 a.m. CST in Fisher County. The US Geological Survey said it measured 3.0 degrees on the Richter Seal. The epicenter was located 15.5 miles east-northeast of Snyder and 11.0 miles north-northeast of Hermley.

The third earthquake occurred Tuesday at 7:43 p.m. CST in Scurry County. Its magnitude was 3.8 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was located 15.2 miles east-northeast of Snyder and 10.8 miles northeast of Hermley.

The fourth earthquake occurred Wednesday at 6:19 a.m. CST in Fisher County. The US Geological Survey said it had a magnitude of 3.1 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was 16.1 miles east-northeast of Snyder and 11.5 miles northeast of Hermley.

The fifth earthquake occurred on Wednesday at 3:08 p.m. CST in Fisher County. The US Geological Survey said it was 2.8 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was 15.6 miles east-northeast of Snyder and 11 miles northeast of Hermley.

No damage was reported from the earthquake.
