Earthquake in Lucknow: Lakhmau, Jn. The tremor was felt in several districts of Uttar Pradesh including the capital, Lucknow, on Friday night. Its intensity was recorded at 5.2 on the Richter scale. According to the information, the earthquake occurred at about 1.12 am. People ran out of their homes in panic because of the earthquake. The earthquake was felt in many parts of the state.

According to the National Center of Seismology, a 5.2-magnitude earthquake occurred at approximately 1.12 pm, 139 km northeast of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The depth of the earthquake was 82 km below the surface of the earth. The epicenter was reported at Bahraish near Lucknow in UP.

Strong tremors from the earthquake were felt in several neighboring districts of Nepal including Lucknow on Saturday evening at 1:12pm. Its focal point was a place called Bheri, located on the border of Nepal and India, in the northeast, 139 km from Lucknow.

The magnitude of the earthquake was 5.2 on the Richter scale. This earthquake occurred at a depth of 82 km inside the Earth. Because of these tremors, many areas of Uttar Pradesh in China and India, including Nepal, felt the earthquakes.

According to Prabhas Pandey, former Additional General Manager and seismologist at the Geological Survey of India (GSI), there is no potential for significant damage at this intensity. Homes built in the epicenter may have cracks in the walls and the tremors can be felt far away but at this intensity there were no casualties.

In Uttar Pradesh, tremors were felt late at night in several neighboring districts of Nepal including Lucknow, Lakhimpur-Khairi, Bahraish, Shravasti, Balrampur, Sitapur, Parabanki, Gorakhpur and Siddharthnagar. Because of these tremors, people came out of their homes in fear in many areas of the capital. Along with asking for each other’s welfare, they also began to confirm that the earthquake had occurred.
