Strong earthquakes shake part of West Papua, Indonesia

Jakarta, Indonesia (AFP) – A series of strong inland earthquakes rocked Indonesia’s easternmost province on Saturday, but there were no immediate reports of major damage or casualties.

Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency said at least four earthquakes of magnitude 6.2 to 5.5 were centered about 37 kilometers (23 miles) northwest of Mambramo Central District in West Papua Province at a depth of up to 16 kilometers (10 miles). . .
