Find humor even in shaky times

It was not a joke. I meant it when I suggested during an informal gathering in our apartment complex that day that my colleagues should go to bed properly dressed. I told them, “The earthquake comes without warning. You never know when it might push you into an open area.”

Expediting a little clothing can embarrass a mixed crowd of men, women, and children. I said I am saying this because of the frequent tremors that were shaking people in different parts of the country – from Jammu and Kashmir in the north to Punjab, Haryana, Delhi; Rajasthan, Gujarat to Maharashtra in the West. Mizoram hit the East four times a week, once at a strength of 5.6 on the Richter scale. Otherwise, fortunately the tremors were of low to medium intensity, causing little damage.

The fact that the earthquake struck 17 times in the month of June 2020 continues to raise concerns about real concerns among people. No one knows what tomorrow will hold. So it is best to always be careful.

2020 was spent half in calculating horror stories of all kinds that continue to bomb us, and send chills into the spine every now and then. However, during the light conversation, a young neighbor asked what he would do if he was in a toilet during an earthquake.

When we sat imagining and smiling in his predicament, he shyly revealed that during the last earthquake sometime before sometime, he was literally caught with his pants in the bathroom. When the building suddenly shook, he was in trouble. To rush into “as is” or exit after completing the ablution process.

We all laughed out loud and despite requests to tell us what happened in the end, he refused to reveal his condition.

In earlier times, earthquakes did not cause much concern. This was because most of the dwellings were single storey and had extended courtyards to rush into. There was no pressure on space. Comic tragedy

Later, she learned that in one of the apartments, the earthquake made a housewife attack her husband to annoy her by rashing her bed recklessly at that strange hour.

Seismology appears to be the order of the day around the world. It makes sense to be ready for battle (earthquake) all the time – day or night.
