Aftershock Everest and the Nepal Earthquake is a three-part documentary series released on Netflix, which tells firsthand accounts of survivors and actual footage that feeds this emotional series about the deadly 2015 earthquake that shook Nepal. Directed by Olly Lambert, with series producer Natasha Zinni and executive producer Liesel Evans.

The 2015 Nepal earthquake, also called the Gorkha earthquake, is a severe earthquake that struck near the city of Kathmandu in central Nepal on April 25, 2015. About 9,000 people were killed, thousands more were injured, and more than 600,000 buildings in Kathmandu and other nearby towns were either damaged or destroyed.

The series offers us three perspectives for people stuck in different parts of the country. The first perspective is for mountaineers, who were on their way to the summit of Everest. The second is about the tourist in the Langtang Valley and the local people who saw their entire village disappear. The third account of a hotel owner in Kathmandu, whose entire building collapsed with his wife and children.

Aftershock still shot: Everest and the Nepal earthquake

The natural disaster was the worst ever recorded since 1934. The earthquake triggered an avalanche on Mount Everest, killing 22 people, the deadliest accident on the mountain ever and another massive avalanche in the Langtang Valley, where it was reported About 250 people lost. It was installed over almost the entire village in the valley.

While recounting experiences and snapshots from that time, it gives you goosebumps and makes you think about the fragility of our lives. How every decision can be so important to your survival. The reactions are positive so far, however, many viewers expressed disappointment in the few documentary subjects who admitted their selfish actions, in the face of such a tragedy.

One controversial story is about a group of Israeli friends who took money from a locked fund belonging to the family of bereaved villagers. We didn’t know for sure what their true intentions were, but they made it a really bad decision. Likewise, the American traveler who wanted to continue the journey despite the apparent dangerous situation left a bad taste.

Many locals also criticize the way the creators only considered the foreigner and failed to show how much the locals helped everyone, despite losing their families. The fallout from the disaster was much greater than what the documentary showed and focused on the more trivial drama.

Just watched #Aftershock Everest and the Nepal Earthquake…a devastating yet beautifully told story that reminds you that safety is often a privilege, and to be grateful for that.

Also, these Israeli climbers and American climbers are just servants.

Watch Post Trauma on Netflix and find this guy nauseating to listen to. Wanting to continue climbing Everest in the midst of the consequences, disrespecting anyone but himself. pic.twitter.com/DYNnIhKcvH

Watch aftershock on netflix about the Nepal earthquake in 2015. Really frustrated with the arrogant American climber who thought he had the money he could endanger the lives of others and the Israelis who stole food and hid their SAT phone. #Everst top

Watching the post-traumatic documentary on Netflix, about the 2015 earthquake in Nepal, and these Israeli guys really pissed me off. They really stole money from nepali villagers who just lost a lot and then said they have good intentions??? What a horrible people.

– Nyawera (@BeingNyawesh) October 7, 2022

Watching Aftershock on Netflix and getting over the Israeli guy who stole money is bad, but I noticed that the bald friend didn’t feel bad because he realized it was a mistake, but because he ‘opened Pandora’s box’. Like bro, what the fuck is this

My thoughts on AfterShock’s Langtang Village Incident on Netflix: Yochai showed heroism and humanity, Yuval personified fear and paranoia, and Yaar lost himself to greed and/or bad decisions, should have listened to Shahar. Ashes looks like an adorable teddy bear from a person.

I’m watching the aftershock around Everest and the Nepal earthquake and this guy was standing there screaming over and over again seeing the avalanche heading towards them and honestly… same.

No part of me ever wanted to see Everest, let alone climb it.

If I were a foreign tourist in a stricken area, I wouldn’t simply plunder the crumbling houses, complain about losing my Everest ambition, and perhaps also reconsider watching TV and admit all that but that’s me. 🤷🏻‍♀️ #AftershockNetflix

Watch Aftershock: Everest and the Nepal Earthquake on Netflix and it’s definitely a reminder of nature’s inspiring brutality.

Aftershock: Everest and the Nepal Earthquake is a beautiful and heartbreaking documentary that must be watched. I remember hearing about the earthquake and seeing pictures of Everest Base Camp, but I had no idea how devastating it was also in the Langtang Valley and Kathmandu.

After the shock at Netflix, it is absolutely amazing how the events were captured in 3 different places, the stories from different people’s perspective, and different people’s priorities in difficult circumstances. Chilling and goosebumps throughout the series!! Well trusted!! 👏🏾

The Post Traumatic Netflix documentary series does a good job of highlighting the scale of the devastation in 2015. But as someone who was on the Langtang trek at the exact same moment, I think he misrepresents the level of support the locals give to all the hikers despite their loss of everything.

We’re watching the post-traumatic Nepal/Everest earthquake docu series on Netflix and by God, the footage is in this thing. Heart consolidation.
