The 72nd anniversary of the founding of the National Health Service has been marked across the UK with a thunderous round of applause nationwide. At an unprecedented challenge in its history, the work of NHS staff was appreciated. The head of the NHS in England said the pandemic had sparked a “tough focus” on adult social care, calling for reform and a proper recovery within a year. The government has said it intends to pursue a long-term plan.
