If the earthquake hits you in bed

Roll into a ball, put a pillow over your head, wait for the shaking to stop, and wear sturdy shoes to protect your feet.

If the earthquake strikes during work or school

Duck, cover and hold! Hide under a desk or table Place one arm above the head while holding the cover with the other hand Wait for the shaking to stop

If the earthquake hits while driving

Stop on the side of the road, stay inside, beware of falling objects, including power lines, use earthquake preparedness kits and wear sturdy shoes

After the shaking stops

Stay calm Be prepared for aftershocks Make sure to cut off electricity, gas and electricity especially if you smell something Check yourself and others for injuries
