Punjab earthquake today latest news: A 4.1-magnitude earthquake hit Amritsar Punjab in the early morning hours of November 14 (Monday).

According to the Indian National Center of Seismology, the tremors were felt at 3:42 am early this morning. “4.1 Magnitude earthquake, occurred on 11-14-2022, 03:42:27 India time, latitude: 31.95 and long: 73.38, depth: 120 km, location: 145 km west of Amritsar, Punjab, India,” National Seismology Center He said.

The National Center for Seismology said the quake was 120 kilometers underground. This comes days after the earthquake that hit Delhi NCR.

Earlier on November 12, strong tremors were felt in parts of northern India, including in Delhi NCR, on Saturday night when a 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal, about 101 km east-southeast of Pithuragarh in Uttarakhand.

The National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center of Nepal said the quake’s epicenter was Patadipal in Baghang, 460 km west of Kathmandu. It was the third earthquake to hit seismically active Nepal in a week.

The quake was also felt in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and some areas of western Uttar Pradesh such as Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar and Shamli.

Kamal Tiwari, a resident of Noida, said he experienced the tremors for at least 10 seconds, adding, “They weren’t as strong as the ones on Wednesday night, but they left us in a state of fear.”

Earlier, a 3.4-magnitude earthquake had its epicenter in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand at 4:25 pm on Saturday.

Eight earthquakes between November 8 and 12

Data from the National Center of Seismology showed that the Himalayan region along the border of Uttarakhand and Nepal experienced at least eight earthquakes of varying degrees between 8 and 12 November.
