A 4.1-magnitude earthquake occurred 145 km west-northwest of Amritsar, Punjab (representative image).

By India Today Web Desk: A 4.1-magnitude earthquake hit Amritsar Punjab early Monday morning, according to the Indian National Center of Seismology.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the depth of the earthquake was 120 km below the surface of the earth.

“4.1 Magnitude earthquake, occurred on 11-14-2022, 03:42:27 India time, latitude: 31.95 and long: 73.38, depth: 120 km, location: 145 km west of Amritsar, Punjab, India,” National Seismology Center He said.

Earlier on Saturday, strong tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR after a 5.4-magnitude earthquake hit Nepal. The earthquakes were also felt in parts of Uttarakhand, including cities like New Tehri, Pitorajgarh, Bageshwar, Puri, among others. The earthquake was also felt in parts of Uttar Pradesh.

On the other hand, this was the second earthquake to hit Nepal. The last earthquake, measuring 6.3, struck Nepal on Wednesday, killing at least six people.
