Claims of Russian missile attack in Poland trigger emergency NATO talks – BBC News

Russian missiles have reportedly hit a farm in Poland near the Ukrainian border, killing two people. One day it happened that Russia launched a massive wave of missiles across Ukraine. Russia rejected claims that it was responsible for the missile attack in Poland, calling it a “deliberate provocation to escalate the situation”. The US and other international powers said they were investigating and did not immediately assign blame. The Polish government has held emergency talks and said some military units are being put on high alert. If the missiles are confirmed to be Russian, it would be the first time its missiles have landed on the territory of a NATO member, raising questions about how the security alliance would respond. He believes that the attacks in Poland could be the result of a missile malfunction or that Ukraine’s air defense system could have deflected a Russian missile.
