Conservationists Chester Zooko have not cooperated with the nun order. If he disappeared, he could rescue an endangered amphibian in a project.
Axolotl – a Mexican salamander unique to Mexico – has been contaminated from freshwater habitat by pollution and overfishing.
Now, scientists say, the nuns hold the key back to the edge. Our science correspondent Victoria Gill has gone to Mexico to visit this special conservation convent.
