An earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale struck the Bay Area, the second in one day

The earthquake hit Union City on Wednesday night.

The Gulf region was hit by an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.3 on Wednesday evening.

The US Geological Survey said the quake’s epicenter was two kilometers north of Union City in Alameda County. It was at a depth of 4.9 kilometers and occurred at 6:22 p.m

No reports of damage were immediately available, but the damage is unlikely to be significant on a relatively low scale. Some people on Twitter reported feeling a jolt.

The news comes hours after a smaller earthquake struck San Leandro, and one day after a large quake rocked the Humboldt County area.

The San Leandro earthquake, with a magnitude of 3.1, occurred around 8:30 a.m. along the Hayward Fault area.
