Coronary virus in Japan sees flood and earthquake victims looking for shelter in cars

TOKYO – Even in one of the most earthquake-prone countries on the planet, the list of Japanese misery appears to be biblical today. With residents shaking in eastern Japan due to an early morning earthquake, hundreds of thousands to the south and west of the country were hit by record torrential rains.

Heavy rains are expected until at least Sunday across the country, with especially low regions on alert. At least 80,000 Self-Defense Forces, police, firefighters and other rescue workers have been deployed to help extract the victims.
