In Peru, a shaman sees the end of the Russo-Ukrainian War in the year 2023

LIMA (Reuters) – Peace between Russia and Ukraine looms large in the new year — or so predicted a group of shamans and healers in the Peruvian capital of Lima on Wednesday.

On top of a hill, the shamans, dressed in traditional Andean clothing, welcomed the coming year in a purification ceremony that included flowers, incense, a snake, and portraits of the Ukrainian and Russian presidents.

“All this will subside. Peace and quiet will come. This is what we have seen,” said shaman Cleof Sedano, expecting a peace treaty to be signed by August.

The celebration, which takes place every year in late December, comes ten months after the Russian invasion of Ukraine that left tens of thousands dead. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been aggressively promoting a 10-point peace plan.

Shamans issued their signals after flying over a leaf of flowers and coca leaves, with skulls on the ground, as shamans predicted natural disasters.

“Next year there will be an earthquake, but not in the capital of Peru, somewhere else, mostly abroad in the northern part of America, which could be the United States … There will be many tragedies, mostly climatic,” said shaman Walter Alarcón.
