TEMPO.CO, JAKARTA – An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale rocked Nias, north of Sumatra, at 06:26 WIB, on Friday, December 30, 2022. The epicenter was detected in the sea, 112 kilometers southwest of the country. South of Nias, at a depth of 37 km.

The head of the Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) Earthquake and Tsunami Center, Daryono, confirmed that it was classified as a shallow earthquake.
