Delhi Earthquake: The tremors of the earthquake were felt late at night in Delhi and surrounding areas on the first day of the new year. The National Seismological Center (NCS) reported, that an earthquake occurred in northwest Jhajar, Haryana at 1:19 am on Sunday (01-01-2023), with a depth of 5 kilometers underground. According to the reading from the center, the intensity of the quake was 3.8 on the Richter scale. Due to this, the earth shook in many areas of Delhi-NCR.

Earlier on November 12, the earthquake had an intensity of 5.4 on the Richter scale, and it occurred in Nepal at around 7:57 pm. The National Seismological Center said the quake was 10 kilometers underground.
