This comes as strong tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR following the 5.4-magnitude earthquake in Nepal in November last month. Tremors were also felt in Uttarakhand, including New Tehri, Pittoragarh, Bageshwar, Puri and other cities. It was also felt in parts of Uttar Pradesh.

The National Seismological Center stated that the 6.6-magnitude quake occurred in western Nepal, whose epicenter was the Dhoti district.

Then, a 4.1-magnitude earthquake hit Amritsar, Punjab in the same month, the National Center of Seismology said.
