The head of the Mississippi city council, appointed by President Andrew Jackson, has voted to remove a state, to reconsider the states of people who have been linked to slavery or the Confederacy in recent slavery. There has been a long debate about the various states that are being debated, but it was only recently that the Black Lives Matter marches were revived after the death of George Floyd. State removal is not just happening in the US.
