Protests in Chile: The clashes continue in Santiago – BBC News
Five people were killed when the robberies ran a clothing factory near the capital city of Santiago, Chile, and at least eight were killed in violent protests.
The military and police used a tear gas and water cannon against the protesters and a cut was established in major cities.
In Santiago, the emergency situation is already being extended to the northern and southern cities of the country.
Now the discontent caused by rising metro fares has been reflected in anger over cost of living and inequality.
There will be a big break on Monday with a number of banks, schools and stores being closed.
