Magnitude 5.8 earthquake in Nepal, tremors felt in Delhi – NCR

A 5.8-magnitude earthquake hit Nepal on Tuesday afternoon, triggering tremors in northern India, including the Delhi-NCR region.

The quake occurred at a depth of ten kilometers and was about 63 kilometers northwest of Jumla district in Nepal, more than 300 kilometers from the capital, Kathmandu, according to a report published by the Reuters news agency.

There were no immediate reports of deaths or major property damage.

This is the tenth earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale or higher in the region in the past year, according to USGS data.
