Trump has denounced the Roger Stone sentence. That’s why he did it
Last Friday, President Donald Trump sentenced Roger Stone to his prison sentence for crimes that included lies in part to protect the president. The announcement came a few days before Stone Stone was placed in front of a federal prison in Georgia. Stone was convicted in November of seven counts – including lying in Congress, manipulating witnesses and obstructing the commission’s proceedings – as a member of Robert Mueller’s special Russian investigative lawyer. Among the worsening issues surrounding Congress were communications with Trump campaign officials. Prosecutors said Stone had been hiding since he wanted to protect Trump. Trump has decided to apologize to his friend and political adviser for his months-long effort to rewrite the history of Mueller’s investigation. Selective declassification of intelligence materials, a controversial investigation into the origin of the Russian probe, and attempts to dismiss the case against Michael Flynn have been included. “Roger Stone is a victim of Russia’s Hoax, the Left and its allies have been in the media for years trying to undermine Trump’s presidency,” White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said. “There has never been any clash with Russia between the Trump campaign or the Trump administration.” #Trump #CNN #News.
