He was randomly paired with a pedophile, and would continue to abuse him for years. Almost 10 years later, Alice is suing the website in a major case; it may be the first time a technology platform has been judged for the way it was built. Omegle’s legal team has argued in court that the site is not to blame for what happened to Alice. Its founder, Leif K Brookes, told the BBC that users of the platform were “solely responsible for their own behaviour”.
