The Tajikistan earthquake was recorded days after thousands were killed in the Turkey earthquake

Tajikistan was hit by a 6.8-magnitude earthquake Thursday, according to the US Geological Survey.

The quake occurred about 41 miles west of Morgan, Tajikistan, located near the country’s border with China. It happened just after 6:30 am in Tajikistan.

Turkey was hit by another 6.4-magnitude earthquake on Monday after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake on Feb. 6.

At least three people were killed in the earthquake that hit Turkey on Monday, and hundreds were injured.

Turkey was recovering from a 7.8-magnitude earthquake on February 6 that left at least 45,000 people dead.

Ali Mazloum, 18, a resident of Antakya, told Agence France-Presse that he was in the process of searching for family members who had fallen in the previous quake when an earthquake struck on Monday.

“You don’t know what to do,” Mazloum said. “We clung to each other, and right in front of us, the walls began to fall. I felt the earth open up to swallow us.”
