Little Rascal donates proceeds from the baklava to earthquake relief efforts in Türkiye

Two months later, Turkey is still reeling from the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck on February 6 and resulted in more than 50,000 deaths and 100,000 injuries. For the month of April, Little Rascal is donating all proceeds from baklava sales to relief efforts started by Turkish Chef Turif Uludağ.

The 130 Franklin Street cocktail bar is an extension of Nolita’s popular Little Rascal outpost, and its menu and decor pay homage to owners Halil and Öner Gündogdu’s Turkish roots – including the aforementioned baklava, a popular dessert sourced from “Elmaci Pazari Güllüoglu” (aka “the oldest Baklava store in the world”), from an area directly affected by the earthquake.

The money raised will help Uludag’s work provide hundreds of thousands of meals per day to those affected (many of them hungry and homeless) across four kitchens set up in different cities across Turkey with other local chefs on site.
