A fundraiser for the book auction was held on Saturday to offer aid to victims of the recent catastrophic earthquakes in Turkey.

The event was supported by famous poets and writers who generously donated autographed copies of their books.

The auction raised money that will be donated to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) to help the victims recover and rebuild. The books came from famous writers and poets, including the Nobel Prize-winning Turkish author Orhan Pamuk.

Ali Karabesir, a second-hand book seller who worked on organizing the event, told Anadolu Agency that the second-hand book market in Istanbul’s Uskudar district had already organized an auction to sell books to earthquake victims.
