Great Sitkin (United States, Alotian Islands): Today at 08:59 local time, the Alaskan Volcanic Observatory (AVO) monitored a 5.3 M tectonic earthquake at a depth of 8.5 km about 55 miles (90 km) northwest-northwest of Great Sitkin Volcano. The earthquake does not appear to be associated with volcanic activity and is likely to be a tectonic origin.
