India registered Covid-19 cases – nearly 35,000 – in the last 24 hours, breaking one million marks. It has the third highest case load in the world, after the US and Brazil – so far only three countries have registered more than one coronavirus case. Active cases in India make up a third of all of them, with a high recovery rate and a low death rate reported. But deaths have risen. At 25,602, they are the eighth highest in the world.
