Afghanistan plane crash: mysterious accident in Taliban territory – BBC News

The US military conducted an investigation into a plane that crashed in eastern Afghanistan on Monday.

Local officials initially said the plane descending into Ghazni Province in Deh Yak was owned by Ariana State.

The airline denied this, asking questions about the origin of the aircraft and the reason for the accident.

Iranian state media said it was flying and said it had US Army Air Force markings.
