Qasem Soleimani: Iraqi MP calls for expulsion of US troops – BBC News

Iraqi parliament has approved a resolution last week after drone strikes at Bagasd airport by Iranian supreme general Qasem Soleimani.

Parliament also called on the UN to make a formal complaint to the US about "violations" of the Iraqi rule.

About 5,000 US troops are in Iraq as part of the international coalition against the Islamic State (IS).

The coalition halted operations against IS before the Iraq vote.

He said he was concentrating on protecting the US, UK and other troops at Iraqi bases.

Soleimani's assassination has escalated in tensions between Washington and Tehran.
