The work pays damages to former employees to resolve defamation claims – BBC News
The Labor Party has agreed to pay heavy damages to seven former workers who went to court to claim to have been called against the party after criticizing how it handled anti-Semitism claims. Last year they spoke on a BBC Panorama program, criticizing how management handled complaints. The work, led by new leader Sir Keir Starmer, has received an unreserved apology, claiming that the party made false and damaging comments about them. However, Jeremy Corbyn, who made comments when he was Labor leader, said it was disappointing that the party had accepted the claim. Corbyn said it was a “political decision, not a legal one,” and risked giving credibility to the party’s activities to combat anti-Semitism.
