France protests against fuel: gas dispute over Paris dispute – BBC News
Police and protesters face off in Paris on the third weekend of "yellow vest" demonstrations fuel prices rise.
Police shed tear gas while several officers wore yellow paint. At least 16 people were arrested.
Thousands have come out in protest of fuel costs and cost of living.
President Macron struck a conciliatory tone a week, but said he would not allow the fuel tax.
He said it is a key part of France's future energy strategy against global warming, but said it was open to ideas on how the tax could be applied.
However, he does not seem to think that his discourse has any relation with ordinary people.
